The Last Straw, LLC is proud to announce that it has partnered with Starlim-Sterner and Wacker Chemical to help further develop and commercialize TLS’s patent-protected technology to eliminate leakage and spills commonly caused by the status quo drinking straw found on juice boxes. Starlim-Sterner brings fully automatic injection molding capabilities and the experience with high-volume, high-speed automation needed with a product of this type. Wacker Chemical is one of the largest producers of silicone in the world, which is a key ingredient in the flexible valve that is attached to the end of the straw.
The creation of these partnerships will allow TLS to complete the necessary testing to be commercial viable, including in-kind capital in the form of materials, moldings, and testing to help produce straws in the volume needed so that potential customers can perform customer research and in-market studies.
About The Last Straw, LLC
The Last Straw, LLC was founded in 2004 after its founder, Robert Stribling, handed his two-year old daughter a juice box just after her evening bath. One squeeze later and her fresh clean pajamas were a mess. The frustration set in and the idea was born. The company has created a valve that attaches to a standard juice box straw and eliminates the potential for spills and leakage. The technology has been rigorously tested and has received high accolades from parents who fully understand the age-old issue.
